We abbreviate the long name, Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol Adjusted Trial Balance System, as GTAS. Entities, including agencies, use GTAS to provide proprietary financial reporting information and information about budget execution to the Department of the Treasury.

Fiscal Service uses that information to meet its requirements from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and to compile the Financial Report of the U.S. Government.
