Treasury Completes Blockchain Collaboration with the Joint Financial Management Improvement Program (JFMIP)

The JFMIP issued a report - Harnessing Blockchain in the Federal Government: Key Considerations for Financial Management and Information Systems, that provides an analysis of research into blockchain’s potential use and impact on federal financial management.

This report used a Proof of Concept developed by Fiscal Service to explore whether blockchain technology could cut the financial reporting burden in the federal grant funding process. The JFMIP study builds on that work by expanding the stakeholders to understand the benefits and impacts of a multi-agency blockchain and understand the architecture, policy, and oversight impacts.
